Radio Feedback: Thirty Seconds To Mars’ Home Depot Connection May 13, 2013 12:29 PM
Welcome to Radio Feedback, Radio.com’s weekly feature where we ask artists to wax nostalgic on the first time they heard themselves on the radio.
Jared Leto has always thought the radio was the best way to discover new music.
“Radio’s pervasive,” he told Radio.com. “You’re not always in control. You can be in a friend’s car. You can be in a taxi. You can be walking by a store or you can be in a lobby somewhere and you can hear something new.”
Or you could be sitting in a parking lot at a Home Depot. That’s where the guys of Thirty Seconds To Mars were when they heard themselves on the radio for the very first time.
“I remember being in Florida,” Leto said.
“Wasn’t it Jacksonville?” drummer (and Jared’s brother), Shannon Leto asked.
The band was making a stop on their way to rehearsal and they heard “Attack” off their 2005 album, A Beautiful Lie, on the radio.
Guitarist Tomo” Miličević remembers them all just stopping what they were doing and just screaming in excitement.
Leto also remembers how it felt that first time, but said even with their fourth studio album on the way, LOVE LUST FAITH + DREAMS (out May 21), the excitement over turning on the radio and hearing their song hasn’t waned one bit.
“It’s always fun to hear yourself on the radio,” Leto said. “It’s like a little gift.” Source UK_ECHELON NewRadio.com Haha ! J'imagine tellement bien la scène ! " Mais mais mais... Mais c'est nous !! " | |
