Where Men Win Glory: The Odyssey of Pat Tillman by Jon Krakauer was released by Doubleday on September 15, 2009. It draws on the journals and letters of Pat Tillman, an NFL professional football player and US Army Ranger whose death in Afghanistan made him a symbol of American sacrifice and heroism, though it also became a subject of controversy about the handling of the announcement of his death by the United States Army. The book draws on the journals and letters of Tillman, interviews with his wife and friends, conversations with the soldiers who served alongside him, and research Krakauer performed in Afghanistan. |

Seven (stylized as Se7en) is a 1995 American thriller film, which also contains horror and neo-noir elements, directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker. It stars Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Gwyneth Paltrow, R. Lee Ermey and Kevin Spacey. It was distributed by New Line Cinema. David Mills (Pitt) and William Somerset (Freeman) are police detectives working in a crime-filled city, who become deeply involved in a case involving a series of sadistic murders. Each murder corresponds to one of the seven deadly sins: Gluttony, Envy, Lust, Pride, Sloth, Greed and Wrath. |

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is the fourth studio album by American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. The album's concept is based around the lives of the "Fabulous Killjoys", in the setting of California in the year 2019. The Killjoys are a group of outlaws who are fighting against the evil corporation Better Living Industries (BL/ind.) and it's various "Draculoids" and exterminators, such as Korse (Grant Morrison). Their guide is the pirate radio DJ named Dr. Death Defying who is voiced by Steve Montano. |

Zodiac is a 2007 American mystery-thriller film directed by David Fincher and based on Robert Graysmith's non-fiction book of the same name. The Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. joint production stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Mark Ruffalo, and Robert Downey, Jr.. Zodiac tells the story of the hunt for a notorious serial killer known as "Zodiac" who killed in and around the San Francisco Bay Area during the late 1960s and early 1970s, leaving several victims in his wake and taunting police with letters and ciphers mailed to newspapers. The case remains one of San Francisco's most infamous unsolved crimes. |

4×4=12 (Four Times Four Equals Twelve) is the fifth album by Canadian electronic artist deadmau5. It was released worldwide (except US) on December 6, 2010 through Virgin Records. The album was released in the United States on December 7, 2010 through Ultra Records. The song "Some Chords" was featured on an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, where Deadmau5 played himself in the episode. The name comes from a Ustream session that Zimmerman broadcast to his fans. He can be quoted as saying something along the lines of "4 drums there, 4 more over there,and 4 more on the other end. 4×4=12".

Choke is a 2001 novel by American author Chuck Palahniuk. Choke follows Victor Mancini and his friend Denny through a few months of their lives with frequent flashbacks to the days when Victor was a child. He had grown up moving from one foster home to another, as his mother was found to be unfit to raise him. Several times throughout his childhood, his mother would kidnap him from his various foster parents, though every time they would eventually be caught, and he would again be remanded over to the governmental child welfare agency. |

Inception is a 2010 action film, written, co-produced, and directed by Christopher Nolan. Leonardo DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a specialized corporate spy and thief. His work consists of secretly extracting valuable commercial information from the unconscious mind of his targets while they are asleep and dreaming. Unable to visit his children, Cobb is offered a chance to regain his old life in exchange for an almost impossible task: "inception", the planting of an idea into a target's subconscious. |

Hot Sauce Committee Part Two is the eighth studio album by the Beastie Boys, released in late April/ early May 2011. The album was originally planned for release on September 15, 2009 under the title Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1, as the first installment of a two part set. However, the album was delayed after band member Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with cancer. After a two year delay, only one album has been released and it is not clear if the plan for a two part album has been abandoned.

Helvetica is an independent feature-length documentary film about typography and graphic design, centered on the typeface of the same name. Directed by Gary Hustwit, it was released in 2007 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the typeface's introduction in 1957. Its content consists of a history of the typeface interspersed with candid interviews with leading graphic and type designers. The film aims to show Helvetica's beauty and ubiquity, and illuminate the personalities that are behind typefaces. It also explores the rift between modernists and postmodernists, with the latter expressing and explaining their criticisms of the famous typeface. |

Nero is an electronic music duo, best known for producing dubstep and drum and bass. Nero's debut dubstep release was "This Way" in 2008. They won the 2010 Beatport awards for Best Dubstep Act and Best Dubstep Track for "Act Like You Know" in 2009. Nero are working on their debut album, to be named "Welcome Reality" (after the "Me & You" B-Side), signed to MTA Records, owned by Chase & Status. Welcome Reality is the first album by UK dubstep act Nero. It is due to be released on 1 August 2011.

Life of Pi is a fantasy adventure novel by Yann Martel published in 2001. The protagonist, Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry, explores issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age. He survives 227 days after a shipwreck, while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger. The novel won the 2003 Boeke Prize, a South African novel award. In 2004, it won the Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature in Best Adult Fiction for years 2001–2003. |

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (often shortened to The Assassination of Jesse James) is a 2007 American Western drama film. The film is directed by Andrew Dominik, with Brad Pitt portraying Jesse James and Casey Affleck as his killer, Robert Ford. Filming took place in rural Alberta and Winnipeg, Manitoba. Initially intended for a 2006 release, it was postponed and re-edited for a September 21, 2007 release. An adaptation of Ron Hansen's 1983 novel of the same name, the film dramatizes the relationship between James and Ford. |

James Blake is the debut studio album by London-based dubstep producer James Blake. It was released in both the United Kingdom and the United States on his own label, ATLAS, supported by A&M Records, on 7 February 2011. The release was supported with the release of its first single, "Limit to Your Love", on 28 November 2010. James Blake generally received acclaim from critics. The Observer's Kitty Empire said James Blake is "already one of the most critically anticipated albums of 2011". The album has also been described as "a sort of dubstep Nebraska or Sea Change, a record filled with self-revelation, introspection, and naked humanity."

Guerrilla gardening is gardening on land without permission. It encompasses a very diverse range of people and motivations, from the enthusiastic gardener who spills over their legal boundaries to the highly political gardener who seeks to provoke change through direct action. It has implications for land rights, land reform. The land that is guerrilla gardened is usually abandoned or neglected by its legal owner and the guerrilla gardeners take it over ("squat") to grow plants.

The Men Who Stare at Goats is a book by Jon Ronson based on research by John Sergeant about the U.S. Army's exploration of New Age concepts and the potential military applications of the paranormal. The title refers to attempts to kill goats by staring at them. Research was carried out in part by Jon Ronson, but also by documentary filmmaker John Sergeant. Twin Shadow is the stage name of American musician George Lewis Jr. Lewis was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Florida. In 2010 he released his debut album Forget, produced by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear. The album has been described as "steeped in 1980s new wave", "building from streaks of haunting synth textures", having "sophisticated melodies", "R&B intimacy", and "poetic lyrics", and "hazily new wave-tinged pop". Twin Shadow was the Rolling Stone 'Band of the Week' on October 7, 2010.

The Long Walk is a novel by Stephen King published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman in 1979 as a paperback original. It was collected in 1985 in the hardcover omnibus The Bachman Books, and has seen several reprints since, as both paperback & hardback. Set in a near future, the plot revolves around the contestants of a gruelling walking contest, held annually by a somewhat despotic and totalitarian version of the United States of America. Stephen King has revealed that it is the first novel he ever wrote, begun eight years before Carrie was published in 1974, when he was a freshman at the University of Maine in 1966-67. |

Labyrinth is a 1986 British/American fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, produced by George Lucas, and designed by Brian Froud. Henson collaborated on the screenwriting with children's author Dennis Lee, Monty Python alumnus Terry Jones, and Elaine May (although only Jones received screen credit). The film stars David Bowie as Jareth the Goblin King and Jennifer Connelly as Sarah Williams. The plot revolves around Sarah's quest to find the way through an enormous otherworldly maze so that she can rescue her little brother, Toby, from Jareth. |

Eyelid Movies is the debut album by the electronic duo Phantogram. The album was generally well-received, retaining a rating of 76 out of 100 on the review aggregating site Metacritic. Absolute Punk gave a favorable review, stating "Phantogram have put forth a collection of heady and stimulating songs primed for in-the-dark listening." BBC Music gave it a 8 out of 10.

A Simple Plan is a novel by American author Scott Smith that was published in 1993. A film based on the novel, directed by Sam Raimi, was released in 1998. A Simple Plan is predominantly a moral tale which deals with issues of greed, the American dream and the nature of good and evil. The main characters are depicted as everyday people who have "normal" values and ambitions, and thus their actions are intended somewhat as a cautionary tale.

Tron is a 1982 American science fiction film written and directed by Steven Lisberger, and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film tells the story of Flynn as he attempts to hack into the ENCOM mainframe to prove that Dillinger has appropriated his work, but ends up being transported into the Digital World itself as a unique program/User. There, he teams up with Tron to defeat the Master Control Program, who has been controlling the Digital World. |

More Monsters and Sprites is the first remix and third EP released by electro house/dubstep artist Skrillex. The EP consists of 3 new tracks and of 4 additional remixes of the title track from his previous EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites. It was released on June 7, 2011, on Beatport and June 21, 2011, on iTunes. The iTunes release includes the "Rock 'N' Roll (Will Take You to the Mountain)" music video as a bonus track.

On Friday July 1st an ExxonMobil oil pipeline under the Yellowstone River broke and spilled thousands of gallons of oil. The Yellowstone River in Montana is the longest undammed river in the United States. It is also known for its trout fishing and bird life, which attracts tourists. The 42,000 gallons of oil have since spread at least 15 miles, affect neighboring farmers and ranchers. Our thoughts are with the members of the affected communities, wildlife and ecosystems in Montana. But we need to make sure this never happens again. Tell President Barack Obama, the Department of Transportation and the Department of the Interior to add teeth to their regulations and not hesitate to fine violators like Exxon Mobil by signing this online petition. |
